Couscous hack- Easy, 10 minute -Couscous

IMG_4079.jpeg

  • 3 cups coarse semolina

  • 1/2 c. oil

  • 1 flat tsp. salt

  • About 3 cups water

  1. Put the semolina in a bowl. Make a hole in the middle and pour in the oil.

  2. Microwave for 3 minutes.

  3. Take out and fluff with a fork, making sure the semolina is well- coated with oil.

  4. Pour 1 cup water around the semolina outward, as far as possible from the center of the bowl.

  5. Microwave for 3 minutes.

  6. Take out and fluff. Add the salt and mix

  7. Repeat this step one more time (1 cup water / 3 minute microwave / fluffing)

  8. Take out and taste it. If it’s not soft enough, repeat the process with some water (1/2 cup)

  9. If there are chunks (I didn’t have any though it’s possible), use a couscous sieve or another to sift it.
