Tziporah’s Peanut Crescent Cookies

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • ¼ cup water

  • 200 gram butter, margarine (I use a relatively healthy substitute, “Smart Balance” spread)

  • 1 cup ground peanuts, roasted and unsalted 

  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract 

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • Powdered sugar for dusting 

  1. Heat the oven (370°)

  2. Using a mixer, mix all of the ingredients till a dough forms. 

  3. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes. 

  4. Divide the dough into very small balls and shape into crescents. Place in a lined baking tray. 

  5. Bake for 35 minutes till the cookies turn brown but not burned. . 

  6. Let them cool off and powder with powdered sugar. 

  7. Store in an airtight container.
