“Schoug”- Yemenite Hot Sauce

  • About 12 medium size hot peppers, stems off

  • 2 bunches of cilantro, washed and ready to use, just leaves

  • 3-4 tbsp oil (I used olive oil)

  • 4 garlic cloves 

  • 1 tsp.cumin 

  • 1 ½ tbsp salt

  • 1 tbsp ground coriander


  1. Grind the peppers and the garlic first. Then remove from the food processor and grind the cilantro.

  2. Mix together the peppers, cilantro and  spices. 

  3.  Fix seasoning. Transfer to a container or a jar. Cover with the rest of the oil.
