“Lafa”- Middle Eastern flatbread
It’s so easy to make flatbread at home. In general, whenever I make any kind of bread, I feel happy and accomplished because bread is the most basic need and I feel like I know how to sustain myself.
Lafa is a common street flatbread that is usually served with Shwarma or other grilled meats
4 cups flour
1 tbsp. dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
About 1- 1.5 cup warm water
1 flat tbsp. salt
Put the flour in a bowl. Add the yeast and sugar and mix.
Starting adding the water and mixing. The dough should be elastic, a bit sticky but firm.
After kneading for 2 minutes, add the salt and knead for 3 more minutes.
Cover for 30 minutes.
Divide into 5 balls. Let them rest for 5 minutes.
Roll the first ball out.
Heat a wide skillet and spray with olive oil spray.
Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side. The Lafa should be light-colored with brownish spots.
Repeat it with the rest of the balls.
